6 shot types




6 camera shots 
CANTED SHOT used to signal to the viewer that something is wrong, disorienting or unsettling. For example i have taken an image of a computer screen and insured that it was diagonal the angle used helps the audience feel unsure and disorientated on what is on the screen.
PROS/CONS - PROS - it makes the audience feel like the scene feel enhance a disorienting or uneasy in the scene
CONS - it can make the audience to feel disconnected and uneasy by simply making their shot uneven.

MEDIUM SHOT allows filmmakers to focus on a whole scene while preserving important levels of detail. For example i have taken an image of a computer screen and insured that the focus of the shot is only the computer and not the surroundings this help the audience focus on the content to the screen.
PROS AND CONS - PROS - it allows filmmakers to focus on a whole scene while preserving important levels of detail. 
CONS -
  • Framing too wide or too close-up.
  • Too much going on or too many subjects.
  • Focus is not on the main subject(s)
  • Subject is too close in foreground or too far back in background.
  • Camera is unstable and too hard to focus

 BIRDS EYE VIEW SHOT it allows you to get a new perspective of the landscape. for example i have taken an image of a computer screen and insured that the angle of the shot was high up this is done so the audience can get an understanding on the surrounding of the computer.
PROS AND CONS - PROS - you can get a new perspective of the landscape or setting.
CONS - in photography by zooming in you can't see all the detail in the shot.
 HIGH ANGLE SHOT-  it can make the subject seem vulnerable or powerless when applied with the correct mood, setting and effect. For example i have taken an image of a computer screen and insured that the angle was high but not as high as a birds eye view shot this is done so it can give a little information on the setting of the computer.
PROS AND CONS - PROS - it gives the viewer a lot of visual information and could also show the object to look vulnerable 
CONS - not really any negatives with this camera shot 


LOW ANGLE SHOT is used to make a subject appear to be larger wider taller and closer for example i have used the computer and i took a picture of it being in a low angle to show the power and the dominance towards it, it also makes the computer look a lot bigger as well.
PROS AND CONS - PROS - creates a sense of power, dominance or intimidation.
CONS - May distort facial features, limits movement due to the position ,can convey vulnerability and loneliness.







WORMS EYE VIEW SHOT - gives the impression that an object is tall and strong while the viewer is childlike or powerless. as an example i have took a picture of the computer on an extreme low angle this was done so it would make a new perspective on the computer and it also makes the computer look tall making it look dominant.
PROS AND CONS - PROS - offering a new perspective on a subject, making it look taller and conveying a different feeling to the viewer. 
CONS - Lack of sharpness and contrast due to not adjusting for exposure.Prone to negative space, which can distract viewers from the subject, Evokes a sense of being small or insignificant compared to the subject
