focal length/focus

Image
Focal length/focus the distance from where the point where the light meets the lens of the camera sensor / the distance from the object of the object of a phone to the camera  PROS AND CONS - you can get different views of an object making the photo more interesting and it can change the perspective of a photo and you can see the setting of the photo. CONS- this can make it complicated for some photos as a big object could be seen as a small one and a small object can be seen to be a big one (if not meant to could be bad)  for the settings of the camera to take a shot close up I would take a close shot whilst also zooming the lens to make the object look bigger and to make and to make the object look smaller I would do an extreme long shot whilst zooming out the camera lens.  this is the first photo of myself using focal length and focus in my photo as you can see i have used an extreme long shot whilst also changing the lens by zooming out. This make it so the objec...

3 pictures of an event

Image
this is my second image of an event and as you can see i took a photo of the Eiffel Tower in France as you can see i took a snails eye view shot of the photo this is because in the photo it looks like to the viewer that we are looking straight up at it making the tower look even bigger than it does and this creates the expression that the viewer of the audience is weak and powerless.  PROS and CONS - PROS - this is a clear image of the photo of the Eiffel Tower and this photo easily expresses the dominance of the building and it shows the weakness of the viewer also the use of the natural lighting makes the tower stand out. CONS - the photo is a bit bland as the only subject in the photo is the tower this could make the photo not be that entertaining and with the lack of brightness/shadow it could make the image a bit boring. this is my third picture of an event that i was in and this was in my prom photo as you can see this is taken as a long shot with myself and 3 of my fr...

photos that have been digitally manipulated

Image
3 images that have been digitally manipulated changing what an image looks like and it allows photographers to modify and improve photographs in they way how they want to. PROS and CONS - PROS - you can change what an image looks like and it will improve the photo. CONS - it is technology dependent as if it is to old the quality of the image might not be good.  this is my first photo of myself using digital manipulation as you can see i have added some effects to my picture, as you can see i have added Ronaldo onto my photo this is so it makes my photo have celebrity endorsement meaning that more people would like my photo and also with the photo i have added shadow on to my photo this gives more of a spooky genre to my photo and finally i have made my photo look cold this changes the kelvin light scale and overall it makes my photo look a lot more mysterious.  this is my second photo that i have digitally manipulated and as you can see i have changed the photo a lot this is b...

3 photos taken at night

Image
3 photo taken at night night photo is taking photo during the night when it is dark to get a different meaning of a photo. PROS and CONS - PROS - you can make some amazing effects that are impossible during the day and the street light are really effective at the night  CONS - without the right lighting the photo can be bad and the photo can be blurry easily. as you can see from the photo as i took it in the night time the only thing that is visible is the sky, this makes the photo have an enigma code as to why the viewer cant see my face. Also the photo was took in a low angle of myself which also makes myself look more dominant and the fact that the viewer cant see my face puts an enigma code to what expression i have and what is the setting of the photo. this is another photo of myself at night time this is taken as an over the head shot which makes the viewer no to where i am walking. As you can see except from that light in front everywhere else is pitch black which puts an en...

3 photos of natural lighting

Image
Natural lighting natural light in photography refers to the process of taking photographs using available light from the sun or moon as the main light source. PROS AND CONS - PROS - it is free meaning that everyone can use it and also it offers you a big variety of change with the lighting due to the type of day. CONS - it is up to the weather if you can get a good shot with natural lighting for example if its cloudy it is really hard to use natural lighting.    in this photo natural lighting is shown with the sunset this is because of the contrast between the clouds and the sun as this photo was taken with an extreme long shot this is because of the contrast between the darkness of the clouds and the brightness of the sun this makes the photo a lot more entertaining for the audience and overall makes it a lot more visually pleasing to look at and its all done with natural lighting also, as the sun is the brightest object on the photo it makes it the main focal point of the im...

rule of thirds

Image
Rule of thirds   rule of thirds is a type of off-centre composition composition where the important elements of a photograph are placed a long a 3x3 grid which is equally divided  PROS and CONS - PROS - it helps guide the viewer when you follow the rule of thirds you guide the viewer eyes through you photo and it can make the photo look more visually pleasing. CONS - it can be used for a small amount of photo and it can be forced making the picture visually unpleasing. this is my first use of using the rule of thirds, as you can see I took the a long shot of some railway with the moon/sky in the background as you can see with the use of the rule of thirds i was enable to show the viewer easily the separation between the railway and the sky also you can also see with this photo that the middle of this photo is of the moon making it a main focus of the photo and as you can see with the two wide squares from the rule of thirds frame you can see that it also separates the trees ov...

image that show anchorage

Image
2 images that show anchorage. anchorage refers to the process by a specific meaning is assigned to an image or text helping to clarify the interpretation. PROS and CONS - PROS - anchorage can help construct meaning and position the the audiences interpretation of an image towards preferred reading.   CONS - there are not really any negatives however for the audience it could be really misleading meaning that the audience can get a total different perspective on a photo because of anchorage. 1 - top student Gem Kabashi dies at Sir John Lawes school, how did he die  with this text i made sure that i added an rhetorical question this is so it leaves an enigma code to the audience this is so it makes the audience want to know what happened and it leaves a boring picture of me in the table to a more exiting photo that has a question with no answer to it.  2 - the president Donald Trump seems unconsious on a table ... what happened.

3 images of triptych

Image
3 images contract a triptych  triptych is three related photographs that are put out together. PROS and CONS - PROS - using triptych can allow the opportunity to display more than a single frame as a finished piece meaning it would allow you to enable a story with the use of a few photos and it reveals different sides to the object/subject. CONS - there are not really any negatives however a lot of photos don't need triptych so it might be used a lot. here is my first photo of using triptych and as you can see that with the first photo it basically the setting of my story as this photo allows the audience to know what im doing and where the setting is. I have also used a mid long shot this is to help enable the audience to know the mise-en-scene around the first photo.  this is my second photo for the triptych and as you can see, in the photo i am doing my action and in this case i am trying to swing my rope like a cowboy this is done as for the triptych the use is to use 3 ph...

3 images of various shutter speeds

Image
various shutter speed   the way on how to change the shutter speed on a dlsr camera is by selecting shutter priority mode on the camera dial then scroll through on how long you want the shutter for then take the photo. PROS and CONS - PROS - it lets you freeze time meaning that you can take one photo to last 15 seconds for example, this can make an image look a lot more interesting on how it was supposed to be if the shutter speed wasn't changed. CONS - the problems that can accrue when using shutter speed in photos is the facts that sometimes you will get unwanted motion blur on your photo and that it is due to camera shake and also it is the fact that using shutter speed with cameras is hard to use so you will find it difficult in the beginning on how to get the correct shot with the use of shutter speed. with this photo you can see that I have changed a normal photo of me standing up to a photo that is interesting, I have done this by standing up and then pointing at the camera ...

2 images about aperture and depth of field

Image
2 images about aperture and depth of field   aperture is the size of the opening in your camera lens this determines how much light will enter you camera with the use of the image sensor also with the dlsr cameras settings will make the impact of the depth of field in your photograph. depth of field is the distance between the closest and furthest object in a photograph PROS and CONS - PROS - it produces detailed photo's. CONS - when used it makes the photo a lot darker so you need a lot of lighting to use the photo.  here you can see that with the the use of the aperture I was able to make the myself blurry and the paper not this makes it so the paper is the focus on the photo and that the audience should be looking at it this makes the picture have an enigma code as the audience might want to know why the paper has more importance over me. Also as you can see the depth of field is not to far away as as you can see from the picture the paper is only an arm...

3 portraits

Image
3 portraits in digital photography the meaning of portraits is capturing the essence, personality, identity and attitude of a person utilizing background, lighting and posing. PROS and CONS - PROS - portraits captures people's images, highlighting their emotions and moods. CONS -  little pixels of colour, often with area that are out of focus or poorly lit and portrait photos can tend to be a little boring. this is my first picture of having a portrait and as you can see, my face is the main point of the photo, as you can also see, that the background is dark however with the use of lighting, I was able to make my face bright which made it stand out as a result I was able to show my facial expression for my first portrait. in order to take this photo I had to make sure I used the 3 point lighting technique in order to make my photo good. this is my second picture of using the portrait and as you can see, that it is very similar to the first photo in the way that I have a ...

3 pictures of mine-en-scene

Image
3 pictures of mise-en-scene in digital photography mise-en-scene means everything in front of the camera, including the set design, lighting, and the actors, and the ultimate way that this influences how the scene comes together for the audience PROS and CONS - PROS - mise-en-scene controls the mood, atmosphere and the character development in a photo. CONS - the audience can pay to much attention to certain characters or points of interest in a scene.  here you can see that I have used mine-en-scene                  with the use of the mask to cover my face as you can see, this puts an enigma code to the photo as the audience might want to know many different questions for example on why I have a mask on my face in the first point, also with the mask on my face it also makes the photo that I took a lot more interesting rather than if I just had no use of mise-en-scene in the photo.  here is another example of me using a prop for th...

3 images of light writing

Image
3 images of light writing   light writing is when you use a long shutter speed and use a light source to write or make patterns or drawing in your photos  PROS and CONS - PROS - it can change a boring photo in whatever way you want also allowing you to be creative. CONS - it is tricky to write with the light meaning that you can mess up a few times. And you need a camera that can change the shutter speed and you must know how to change it to be able to use light writing. here you can see that I have changed a normal boring photo of my self standing in a medium shot. However with the use of the light writing I was able to change the photo to make it a lot more interesting. This was done by the fact that I was able to draw a star with the use of the flash light on my phone and also the long shutter speed (put to 5 second long ) with the DLSR camera. Also with the the background colour being dark makes it a lot easier for me to make the light writing. here is another example of m...

3 images of framing

Image
3 USES OF FRAMING framing is used in photography to show the viewer where they should be focusing and where they should be focusing their attention to, it also draws the audience away from any distractions of the photograph by highlighting the subject. PROS and CONS - PROS - you can clearly see the main subject of the photo meaning the audience will immediately know what they have to look at. CONS - there are not that many negatives however it doesn't look natural.  here you can see that i have positioned my friend Douglas's eye on one side of a key hole and i put my camera on the other side of the lock putting it really close so it can focus on the eye making the key hole my frame for this picture as you can see the foreground is kind of blurry and all of the cameras focus is on the eye giving the photo to have a mystical feeling behind it giving it an enigma code. here you can see that i have positioned Douglas on one side of the frame and i out i mid shot on his body this ma...

5 camera angles

Image
5 Camera angles  CANTED ANGLE is used to cause a sense of unease, disorientated for the viewer. I made sure that the picture was took in an angle this is to connote that the audience would feel unease/confused it also makes the audience not sure what's going to happen next.  PROS / CONS -  PROS - it makes the audience feel disoriented and unease when using this shot. CONS - could make the audience be put of by this angle when used. LOW ANGLE used to make an object look a lot taller, wider and bigger making it dominant to the audience. As you can see I made sure that the picture was in the low angle and as you can see, I look a lot bigger and dominant than usual, it also makes the audience believe that whoever is presented in this angle has a lot of power/dominance.  PROS/CONS - PROS- it makes the audience know about the person/objects power/dominance.  CONS - can make it look like the person/object is vulnerable or lonely and can also show distort in the face. S...
